Obituary Condolences

MARSHALLVILLE/DOYLESTOWN -- Frances Ray, age 91, passed away on May 3, 2013.

Born on August 17, 1921 in Akron to Odell and Lorene (Makin) Lanning, she was a life resident of the Marshall-ville-Doylestown area. Frances had worked as a cook at Wadsworth-Rittman Hospital and Marshallville Elementary. She had also worked at Buehlers. A member of Emmanuel United Church of Christ, she was also a member of the Doylestown Lioness Club, Marshallville Garden Club, the Barberton Senior Center, Slovene Center, V.F.W. Post 1066, and the Marshallville Mothers Club.

Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ben in 1993; great-granddaughter, Sarah Haynes; brother, Roger Lanning; she is survived by her daughters, Nancy (John) Strausbaugh of Marshallville, Pam (Mel) Grand of Murrells Inlet, S.C., Ann (Dave) Martin of Wooster; 12 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; eight great-greatgrandchildren; sister, Wanda Wintrow of Doylestown.

Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the Zak-Thacker & Monbarren Funeral Home, 132 N. Portage St., Doylestown, 44230 with Pastor Tim Jensen, officiating. Burial will be at Greenlawn Memorial Park. Family and friends may call on Monday, from 6 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Doylestown Food Cupboard, c/o Doylestown United Methodist Church, 153 Church St., Doylestown, 44230.
