Leo E. Bays, age 91, of Munroe Falls, passed away peacefully late Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at his daughter's home.
He was born February 23, 1922 in Runa, West Virginia to the late Arch and Anna (Worlledge) Bays. Leo graduated from Nicholas County High School in Summersville, West Virginia. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II serving in the 361st Engineer Special Service Battalion. Leo married in 1950 and moved to Ohio in 1954. Leo retired from Ford Motor Company with 36 years of service. He also owned Leo's Carpet Laying for many years.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, the former Willa Mae McClung; and sisters, Hazel Moore Barry, and Eleanor Jarrell.
Leo is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Jill and James Armbrust of Munroe Falls; grandchildren, Emily and Jonathan Armbrust; and many nieces and nephews and cousins.
Friends may call 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the Dunn-Quigley Funeral Home, 3333 Kent Rd. at Rt. 91 in Stow, where the funeral service will be at 7 p.m. Private entombment with military honors will be at Northlawn Memorial Park.
