M. Jeannette (Alban) Seeger passed away Sunday, September 15, 2013.
Born October 21, 1927 in Toledo, Ohio to Charles and Cornelia Alban, she was the oldest of two sisters and one brother. She attended the University of Michigan and graduated with a BSN. After working at the U of M while her husband was in Korea and attending graduate school, she moved to Akron and worked at Akron City Hospital. In 1960, she moved overseas with her husband, and lived for 14-½ years before returning to Akron with her family.
Jeannette was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Seeger. She is survived by her children, Kathryn Seeger and son-in-law Michael Stiltner, James Seeger and daughter-in-law Betty Tsuei, Andrew Seeger and daughter-in-law Cathy Holley; grandchildren, Lisa and Michelle Stiltner, Hayden and Sydney Seeger; and brother, Richard Alban. She leaves her ever faithful friend cat, Bubbles, as well as many loving friends.
She was an active member of the Woodland United Methodist church, volunteered at Children Special Services and was always busy-playing golf, bridge, traveling with her children and grandchildren, and visiting her children to help wash windows and pull weeds. Jeannette was a very generous and practical person, and will be missed by family and friends.
A memorial service will be held at Woodland United Methodist Church on Sunday, October 6th at 1 p.m. Memorial donations can be made in Jeannette's name to the Woodland United Methodist Church, 444 N. Hawkins, Akron, OH 44313.
