Monty Franklin Blough, 75, of Lodi, passed away Monday, October 21, 2013 after a courageous three-year battle with cancer.
He was born on August 10, 1938 in Rittman, Ohio.
He is survived by his beloved family: his wife of 52 years, Diann and son, Mark. He is also survived by sisters-in-law, Vickie (Henry) Dagit, Margaret (Thomas) Huber; brother-in-law, Larry (Shirley) Hetsler; seven nieces, two nephews, and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Myrtle (Massie) Blough; sister, Mary Hemrock; and brother, Jack Blough.
Monty was a 1956 graduate of Lodi High School and had worked at Lodi Lumber Company before entering the military. Monty served in the U.S. Army as a military policeman stationed at Ft. Sam Houston in San Antonio, Texas. He was employed at Rubbermaid in Wooster for 32 years.
Monty was a kind, generous, and hard-working man. He was also very artistic and creative. He was especially talented at woodworking, making everything from furniture to folk art, which he enjoyed giving to family and friends. He also enjoyed collecting antiques and spending time with his family. He was a devoted and loving husband and father.
Funeral service will be held Friday, October 25, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Parker & Son Funeral Home, 210 Medina St., Lodi, Ohio, Reverend Donald Kuntz of Lodi will officiate. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Lodi. Visitation will be Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
