Henry J. Holtz, 64, passed away October 23, 2013.
Born in Akron, Mr. Holtz graduated from Coventry High School and Akron University. He was employed by the Ohio Edison Company as a Professional Surveyor for over 42 years. He served his country honorably in Vietnam and was a "life" member of both the VFW Post 8975 and the Army-Navy Garrison 250. He was a member of St. Francis de Sales Church and former CYSO coach of soccer and baseball. He was a fan of the Indians and the Browns.
Henry was preceded in death by his father, Eugene J.; mother, Helen G.; and brother, Robert E. Holtz. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Kathleen D.; son, Thomas E. Holtz; daughter Christine D. and son-in-law, Kirkland Norris; grandchildren, Joshua, Jordan and Julia Norris; and sister, Karen Robinette.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Monday, October 28, 2013 at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, 1800 Steese Rd., Uniontown, Ohio 44685. Family and friends may call on Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. at Schermesser Funeral Home, 600 E. Turkeyfoot Lake Rd., Akron, OH 44319 (SR 619). Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery.
