Lt. Col. Jack A. Simon, 83, passed away on November 26, 2013.

Born November 26, 1930 in Cleveland, Ohio, he graduated The Ohio State University, He was the last paid bat boy for the Cleveland Indians in the 1950's. He served in the United States Air Force for 32 years (active duty and reserves), flying B-52 Bombers and various jets in both the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He later worked as VP for Mellon Bank, Pittsburgh, Pa.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Theresa D. (Zielaskiewicz) Simon; infant daughter, Theresa; his parents, Thomas and Willa Simon; brother, Thomas Simon; and sister Francis (Toots) Rysko. He is survived by son, John A. (Cheryl) Simon; daughter, Theresa M. (George T.) Blankenship; grandchildren, Jacquelyn R. (Nathan) Cole, Ian M. (Lauren) Simon, Theresa "Brooke" (Jason) Roberts, Thomas "Tyler" (Renee) Blankenship, Amber R. Blankenship, and Jessica Blankenship; great-grandchildren, Lucien, Adalyhn, Annelies, Eowyn, Emerson, Cosette Roberts, James T. Blankenship; numerous nieces and nephews and grand-nieces and grand-nephews.

Funeral Service will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at Cox Funeral Home, 1376 High St., Wadsworth, OH 44281. Burial at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. Calling hours 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, December 3, 2013 at Cox Funeral Home.
