Roland H. Kelker, 86, went home to be with the Lord on December 20, 2013, after an extended illness at Orchard Ridgewood, Akron, Ohio.
Roland was born February 7, 1927 in Akron, Ohio to the late Equilla and Regina Kelker.
Roland was a lifetime resident of Akron, Ohio. He was a Korean War veteran. Roland also worked at Chrysler Stamping Plant and Bondurant's Towing. His last employer was Stan's Towing until his illness.
Lovingly known as T-Vay, he attended West High School. He participated with Golden Gloves boxing and became a middle weight Golden Glove Champion. He loved to dance and loved life. Roland's attitude about life could be summed up in these few words: "A man with no worries."
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Carolyn; son,Ted; and brothers, David and Rudolph. Roland is survived by devoted wife of 48 years, Lillie B.; daughters, Betty and Roslin; sons, Robert and Roland Jr.; along with five grandchildren, all of Akron; sisters, Pastor Regina Gladman of Akron, Apostle Grace Clayton of Temecula, Calif; brothers, Carl C. of Brownsmills, N.J., Rev. Ernest Kelker (Louise), Elder Preston Kelker (Helen) and De'Juan C. Kelker Sr., all of Akron; also a host of relatives, nieces and nephews.
