James A. "Shorty" Moore|
James A. Moore, 68, passed away January 9, 2014.
He was born October 9, 1945 in Akron, Ohio to the late Robert and Alice Moore. He grew up in Sawyerwood, graduated from Springfield High School and proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps.
Jim leaves behind, his loving wife, Carole; daughters, Cherie (Philip Boatwright) Moore, Judy (Gary) Wurdeman, Debra (Larry) Boden; sons, Jay (Brenda) Moore, Tony (Cheryl) Norris, Rodney (Darnell) Norris, Kyle (Tina) Norris; sister, Kathy (Dave) Zehner; brothers, Robert (Shelly) Moore, Dennis Brown, Don (Paula) Brown, Tony (Diane) Brown; Archie and Jean Brown (whom he called Dad and Mom); grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and more friends than we can count.
Jim was known as "Shorty" from years of volunteering his time and energy to local amateur softball. He was a member of the Summit County Softball Hall of Fame Class of 1996. He worked for the House of LaRose and the LaRose Family for many years. He will be deeply missed by his family, as they were the source of his joy. Although he was short in stature, his personality filled every room he entered.
Friends may call at Bacher Funeral Home, 3250 Greenwich Rd., Norton, on Tuesday, January 14, 2014 from 4 to 8 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at 11 a.m., with visitation one hour prior to the service; Jason Seiberling officiating. Interment at Ellet Cemetery. Military honors provided by Firestone VFW Post #3383. The family suggests memorials to the
