Bud Daniels passed away on January 15, 2014. He was born in Beverly, W.Va. on February 18, 1932 to R.W. and Cleona (Butcher) Daniels.
Bud was proud to be a graduate of Mount Vernon, a one room school house, and to have achieved all eight grades in only six years. After graduating he worked with his father in forestry, he then joined the Navy serving aboard the USS Daly during the Korean Conflict. "I had the same bunk for 44 months and 19 days." Bud moved to Akron in 1956, working for Brown-Graves Lumber for 40 years. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and was a member of the Directors' Staff of the Tadmor Shrine and enjoyed fishing and hunting.
Bud was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Donna (nee Francis); sisters, Imogene Campbell and Dora Newlon; brothers, Dempsey, Coy and Ralph "Smokey". He is survived by his wife of 48 ½ years, Nancy (nee Cook); sons, Evan, Dennis and William "Duke"; sisters, Pauline Edwards, and Connie Pingley; brothers, Harry and Carl; grandsons, Hartley and Noah. He is also survived by former wife, Liz (T.C.) Koger; special nephew, Gary Lee Daniels (Ruth); and many other family members and friends.
The family will greet friends at Bacher Funeral Home, 3250 Greenwich Rd., Norton on Monday, January 20th 2014 from 4 to 7 p.m. with a Masonic Service by Lodge number #83 beginning at 7 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 21st at 10 a.m. with Rev. Edward Holland officiating. Interment at Grill Cemetery. If desired, the family suggests donations be made to the Tadmor Shrine Burn Unit c/o 3000 Krebs Dr. Akron, OH 44319 in memory of Bud.
