Christian A. "Pops" Meister|
WADSWORTH -- Christian A. "Pops" Meister passed away Thursday, January 30, 2014.
He was born on November 26, 1943 in Lyndhurst, Ohio to the late Rudolph Meister and Leisle Glatche and resided in the Wadsworth area for most of his life. Mr. Meister graduated from Wadsworth High School. After graduation he entered the U.S. Army and honorably served his country for the next four years. He left the Army in 1971 and went to work for PCA in Rittman, Ohio and eventually went to work at Myer's Corporation and remained there until he retired in 2008. Chris was a member of the Wadsworth American Legion Post #170 and Wadsworth VFW Post #1089. He was an avid motorcyclist and outdoorsman, he loved his Harley Davidsons and logged over 300,000 miles on them.
Chris was loved by all and never met anyone he didn't call friend.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his adoptive father, Frank Harter Sr. and adoptive brother, George Harter.
Chris is survived by his son, Curtis (Tamara) Meister; granddaughter, Hannah; brother, Raymond (Janice) Meister Sr.; nephew, Raymond (Sarah) Meister Jr.; and nieces, Dr. Michelle Zimmerman and Maria Meister. He is also survived by his adoptive mother, Margaret Harter; brother, Frank Harter Jr.; sister, Barbara Harter; nieces, Christine Harter and Lisa Mustelier.
The family would like to thank Hospice of Medina and especially Steve and Chris Ramsey, the Maki Family (especially Brandon his daytime care giver) and all of the members of Posts 170 and 1089 for all of their love and support.
The family will receive friends 3 to 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Hilliard-Rospert Funeral Home, 174 N. Lyman St., Wadsworth, where the funeral service will be conducted at 6 p.m.
