Margaret Elizabeth Flaherty|
Margaret E. Flaherty, age 91, passed away Monday, February 3, 2014 at Akron City Hospital.
Margaret was born March 5, 1922 in Akron to the late John and Helen (Litomeretsky) Barkocy. She retired from St. Thomas Hospital where she was a Medical Transcriptionist.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Thurman E. Smith and Robert Flaherty; sister, Helen Rhodes; and brother, John Barkocy.
She is survived by her daughters, Pat (Carl) Longo, Elaine Skala, and Deb (Bob) Rader; stepchildren, Mary Ann Crawford, Mike (Patty) Flaherty, Denny (Sherry) Flaherty, Jean (Gary) Wood, and Pat (Jan) Flaherty; sister, Irene Holloway; 22 grandchildren including Dale, Tabitha, Steve, Gillian, Samantha, John, and Angie; 50 great-grandchildren including Elora and Alexis; several nieces, nephews, and friends.
Friends may call 6-8pm Friday at the Dunn-Quigley Funeral Home, 3333 Kent Rd (at Rt. 91) in Stow. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Saturday, February 8th at Holy Family Church, 3179 Kent Rd. in Stow. Interment at Oakwood Cemetery.
