Margaret F. Kovalchik|
Margaret F. Kovalchik, age 86, passed away peacefully at home in The Villages, Florida on February 22, 2014. She was born March 31, 1927 in Uniontown, Ohio to John and Mary Karkalik.
In 1947 Margaret married Russell in Annunciation Catholic Church. Margaret was a homemaker and retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company with 24 years of service. She was an active member of St. Matthew Parish Catholic Church and past president of the Ladies Guild. She was also active in the Ladies Auxilliary VFW. Margaret traveled extensively with Russell visiting family and friends and in 1991 moved to The Villages, FL. Margaret was an active parishioner of St.Timothy Catholic Community in Lady Lake and an award-winning quilter with twenty years membership in the Quilting Guild of The Villages. Margaret enjoyed family cooking and baking traditions, especially at Easter and Christmas.
Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Russell and is survived by sons, Allen (Eileen), Russell II (Pam); daughter, Alice Zelnar (Royce); five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; brother, Fred (Myna); sisters, Anne Witsaman and Ethel Memmer.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, February 27, 2014 at St.Timothy Catholic Church, Lady Lake, Fla. Margaret will be laid to rest at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Fla. The family suggests memorials be made to Cornerstone Hospice, 601 Casa Bella, The Villages, FL. 32162.
