Norma L. Merrow, 83, passed away March 5, 2014 after a long illness.
Norma was born in Akron to the late Charles and Velva (Gardner) Harper and lived in the Akron area most of her life. She was a graduate of Garfield High School.
Norma was a faithful member of Family of Faith United Methodist Church, formerly Church of the Master, and worked at Summit Co. Board of MRDD/Weaver Workshop in the Transportation Dept. for 18 years until her retirement in 1992.
Norma enjoyed spending time with her family and traveling.
Norma is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Mark; children, Doug (Debbie), Dennis (Sue) and Scott Merrow and Beth (Rick) Schwenning; grandchildren, Amy (Josh), Amanda (Matt), Ali (Dan), Richard, Matthew, Zack and Sam; great-grandchildren, Zeke, Eden, Blake, Luke, Owen and Jessica; sister, Erma Hiner; and many other loving family and friends.
Funeral service will be Friday, 12 noon at Chapel Hill Retirement Community, 12200 Strausser St., Canal Fulton, Ohio. Visitation will be at the Chapel Hill Retirement Community's Chapel from 10 to 12 noon. Norma's final resting place will be Rose Hill Burial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Make a Wish Foundation.
