Gilbert William Reynolds
CLINTON -- Gilbert William Reynolds, 82, passed away Wednesday, April 9, 2014.
He was born January 18, 1932 in Sayre, Pennsylvania to the late Robert Reynolds and Luella (Sullivan) Reynolds. Gilbert graduated from Sayre High School in Sayre, Pa. He joined the U.S. Air Force in 1949. He retired from Babcock and Wilcox for 25 years. Gilbert was a long-time member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church.
Gilbert was known for his interesting wit and his love of gardening. He was always happy to share his garden's bounty with friends and family. He was able to enjoy road trips with his son, as recently as a few months ago.
Gilbert was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy (Wozniak) Reynolds and his sister, Carolyn Gowan. He is survived by his son, Stephen R. of Austin, Texas; sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary Jean (William) Hinkle of Macedonia, Ohio, Marjorie (Thomas) Burkley of Akron, Ohio, Ellen (John) Shacklett of Etowah, N.C.; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and good friend, Timothy Szittai.
There will be no calling hours. Friends and family are invited to attend Mass of Christian Burial Monday, 11 a.m. at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 1263 Shannon Ave., Barberton 44203, Fr. Robert Jackson, celebrant. Inurnment at Holy Cross Cemetery with military honors by Firestone VFW#3383. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the
or Prince of Peace Catholic Church.
