I remember vividly the time I spent at the sprawling Broida home on Trunko Road in the 60s with my buddy, Gary (the smartest, funniest and best of us all - too soon gone, but never forgotten) while Mark, Laurel, Neal, Jill & Clark flew wildly in and out like electrons circling the steady nucleus that was Mrs Broida...Mrs Broida, always smiling, always there with a kind word or gesture, always...there...
Earl Broida gave me my first job, measuring men's inseams at his Tuxedo shop on Main Street...I admired him greatly...
I thought then, and I am certain now, that the Broidas were the most exhilarating and gifted family I had/have ever known, and the calm center of that exhilaration, and the true source of those gifts, was Jean Broida...
