(Butcher) Banfield
Delores (Butcher) Banfield, 78, of Wadsworth, OH passed away on January 24, 2017.
She was the proud wife of Merrill for 58 1/2 years. She was preceded in death by their son, Charles Merrill (1960); and her parents, John & Ann (Mascak) Butcher.
She is survived by her husband, Merrill; children, Dennis and Sherry,
MaryAnne and Harry
Edwards, Donna and Rich Sponsler, Donald and Tonya, Michelle and Kelly Papp; 11 grandchildren, Jenny Giacomoni, David Banfield, Julie Carr, Amanda Reid,
Jessica Sponsler, Steven Sponsler, Ashley Reinhart, Sarah and
Haley Banfield, Joey and Samantha Papp as well as seven great-grand
children; sister, Carol; brother, John; and niece, Beth Butcher.
After retiring as the secretary at Sacred Heart School in 1998, Delores and Merrill enjoyed snow birding in their Florida home until her health declined in 2015. Delores enjoyed reading, painting, arts and crafts and volunteering at the church and food pantry in Florida.
The family will receive friends 4 - 8 p.m. Friday at the Hilliard-Rospert
Funeral Home, 174 N.
Lyman St. Wadsworth. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Saturday at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 1263 Shannon Ave., Barberton, OH. Please meet at the church.
In lieu of flowers, Delores would like donations to be sent to: Unbound, 1 Elmwood Ave., Kansas City, KS 66103, Haven of Rest Ministries, 175 E. Market, Akron, OH 44308 or Food for the Poor, 6401 Lyons Rd., Coconut Creek, FL 33073.
