Walter DeVinney Obituary
Walter Edward DeVinney, 85, of Hudson, Ohio, passed away peacefully on September 11, 2017 at Summa Akron City Hospital.
He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Joan (Ewald) DeVinney; son, Brad Ewald (Lori) DeVinney of Loveland, Ohio; daughter, Susan (Charles) Bauck of Hudson, Ohio; grandchildren, Carley Whitton of Loveland, and Ethan and Brooke Bauck of Hudson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation and funeral service was held at Redmon Funeral Home. Interment Crown Hill Cemetery, Twinsburg. Memorial contributions may be made to the Fisher Center for Alzheimer's Research Foundation, 110 E. 42nd Street, 16th floor, New York, NY 10017 or by going to www.alzinfo.org, or to the Palliative Care Unit, Akron City Hospital, 525 E. Joan and Family,
I worked with Walt as Manager of the Proving Grounds in San Angelo Texas. We worked through some tough times, but developed a plan to move forward. With Walt's support, we established a Technician Development Program and plans for the Vehicle Dynamics Area. Walt was always a respected professional.
Barb and I always enjoyed the visits from you and Walt. Please accept our sincere condolences.

Our sympathies to Walt's family. Walt was a professional and gentleman. I witnessed Walt's leadership in gaining ISO certification for the Technical Center in the 2 years before his retirement. He left a legacy at Goodyear...and with those that knew him.
