Frank Edward Crawford, 85, of Canal Fulton, passed away Monday, Nov. 15, 2004, at home, after a long illness.

Frank was born Jan. 28, 1919, in Bowerston, Ohio, the son of the late Ola and Charles Crawford. He was a graduate of Bowerston High School and Bliss Business Col lege in Columbus. Frank was an Army veteran of World War II, and retired in 1981 from Fire stone Tire & Rubber Co. after 38 years service. He was a member and past president of Canal Fulton Library Board, served as the clerk treasurer of Northwest Local School District and on Canal Fulton Village Council. He was a member and past president of Canal Fulton Rotary Club, a member of American Legion, and a 50-year member of Elliott Lodge 514 F&AM. Frank was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ in Canal Fulton, where he served as a deacon.

He was preceded in death by son, Cmdr. Keith Eugene Crawford, USN. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Evelyn J. Crawford; two sons, Dean (Paula) of Massillon and Dave (Lynne) of Pickerington, Ohio; daughter-in-law, Capt. Mary Perri Crawford, USN (Ret.) of Fairfax, Va.; grandchildren, Matthew and Michael of Fairfax, Va., and Jessica Crawford of Massillon, Ohio; brother, Willard (Jean) of Walled Lake, Mich., and North Ft. Myers, Fla.; sister, Erma Millhorn of Bower ston, Ohio; and many nieces and nephews. The family wishes to thank the wonderful nursing staff of Chapel Hill Community, Visiting Nurse Hospice, and his private nurses for their love and support and the wonderful care they provided the last five years.

Funeral services Thursday, Nov. 18, at 11 a.m., at Swi gart-Easterling Funeral Home, 624 E. Cherry St. (Route 93), Canal Fulton, Rev. Thomas Ger stenlauer officiating. Interment at Union Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funer al home WEDNESDAY, 6 to 8 p.m., and Thursday, one hour prior to the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Trinity United Church of Christ Building Fund, 8101 Manchester Ave., Canal Fulton, Ohio 44614, or the Visiting Nurse Hospice, 3358 Ridgewood Rd., Akron, Ohio 44333.
