Sep 12, 1931 - Feb 3, 2013 OKLAHOMA CITY Delbert "Nick" Nichols, devoted husband and father, passed away on February 3, 2013, after a brief stay at Integris Hospice House. He was born in Stroud, Oklahoma, September 12, 1931. His family eventually moved to Oklahoma City, where he graduated from Capitol Hill High School in 1950. He married Phyllis Newsom in 1953 after serving in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Eventually, he worked as a master salesman for the John H. Cole Electrical Company for 25 years until his retirement. He was a longtime member of the Lambuth United Methodist Church and the First United Methodist Church in Moore, Oklahoma. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Phyllis Nichols; one daughter, Kathy Stanka, of Yukon, Oklahoma; son, Joe Nichols, of Fort Wayne, Indiana; one brother, Gerald Nichols; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, of whom he was very proud. The family is grateful to Dr. Bond, Dr. Lane, and nurse Teri for their many years of care. We also thank the staff at Integris Hospice House for their kind consideration and care. In lieu of flowers, memorials are welcome at the Frist United Methodist Church of Moore, Oklahoma. Family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, February 5, 2013, at Resthaven Funeral Home.
