Dec 14, 1926 - Oct 7, 2012 OKLAHOMA CITY Charwynne "Ammie" Higdon Gulick was born Dec. 14, 1926, in OKC. She passed on to be with the Lord on Sunday, Oct. 7, at age 85. She is survived by her four sisters, two daughters, four grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. She married Burl Gulick on Nov. 4, 1940. Char and Burl owned Higdon's Flower Shop & Nursery for 40 years. She was an excellent florist, master bridge player, Spanish teacher, and a strong Republican. We are sad to see her go, but we know that she is with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, in heaven, and we are so grateful for that. We will never forget all the things she taught us, her sense of adventure, or the support she gave us all. We love you! She was an active member of Britton Christian Church. Services will be held Friday, October 12th at 2 p.m. at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 8701 NW Expy, OKC. Visitation will be held Thursday, October 11th 12-8 p.m., with family present from 5-7 p.m. Memorials can be made to BritVil Community Food Pantry, 8717 N Western Ave, OKC, OK 73114; or Britton Christian Church.

I remember Char's love of flowers and bridge, her close-knit family, her sharp mind! One incident stands out--Burl and Char visited us in Indiana, and Char went out in a nearby field and ended up with a beautiful floral arrangement for the dinner table--incredible! That was Charwynne! Henry Gulick

We send our condolences all the way from Italy and wish we could be there. I always loved the visits to Oklahoma City at Aunt Char's house and hanging out at the nursery.

I came to know Char through my work place. She was always such a pleasant and cooperative lady. We are not supposed to have favorites, but she was definitely one of mine.

I had so much fun working with Charwynne in getting our mother's house ready to sell. She added so much to the family get-togethers and even though I have not seen her much in he last few years I shall miss her. The memories are still there tho.
