Jan. 13, 1958 - Nov. 19, 2012 OKARCHE Joyce L. Lodes started life on Jan. 13, 1958 in Okarche Memorial Hospital. She graduated from Piedmont High School in 1976 and continued her education at Oklahoma State University, where she earned a BS in Mechanical Engineering, an uncommon field for women at that time. She was married to Mark Lodes in Feb. of 1981, and 5 years later they were blessed with a daughter. She spent many years working as a mechanical engineer, designing buildings and computer parts. She lived a full life and enjoyed filling her time with her many pets, traveling and being with her friends and family, near and far. She died Nov. 19, 2012 at Mercy Hospital, Oklahoma City, OK. She was preceded in death by her parents, Laton and Rose Lewis, and brother, Robert Lewis. She is survived by her husband, Mark Lodes and daughter, Rosie Lodes; along with her sisters, Karlyn Strickland and Pat Gray; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial for Joyce will be held at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Okarche at 10:00 a.m., Fri., Nov. 23 with interment following at Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery, Okarche.
