ALBERTA ROMINE

RomineSep. 14, 1915 - Nov. 10, 2012 OKLAHOMA CITY Maxine was born September 14, 1915 in Burlington, Kansas to Judd and Edith Jeffery. She graduated with honors from high school in 1933 and then attended Wichita Business School. She married Ray C Jones on 11/29/35 and they had two children - Barbara Faye and Larry Ray. Maxine held several professional occupational positions throughout her tenure including executive secretary, stenographer, accountant, ending with a job with the Social Security Administration. Maxine was baptized at age nine and in her sixties was the cook at a Methodist missionary group to Haiti to improve their living conditions. Her life revolved around her family and grandchildren. Her grandchildren's memories consist of a grandmother who always had time to play with them, driving the yellow "go-go car," catching lightening bugs, and taking the kids on fishing trips. Grandma was also known for her guidance on gardening, and instructional cooking lessons. By example, she taught the value of hard work. Maxine was always on the move; thus, was referred to as the "bionic grandma" by her grandchildren. She was a wonderful person who will be greatly missed. Awaiting her in Heaven are her parents Judd and Edith Jeffery, brother Leland, sister Erma and husband Clarence Henley, sister Faye and husband Lawrence Morrow, husbands Ray C. Jones and Orville Romine, and son-in-law Charles A. Richards. Surviving family members are her daughter Barbara Richards, son Larry Jones and wife Denise, grandchildren R. Charles "Chaz" Richards, Lance W. Richards, Logan Jones, Nealey and husband Devin Bahm, Spencer Jones and wife Connie; great grandchildren Cale Bahm, and Kayla and Kaleb Coby. Memorial services will be on Saturday, November 17, at 10:00 a.m. at The Chapel at Resurrection Memorial Cemetery (7801 NW Expressway, OKC).
