BLANQUITA DYE

January 3, 1926 - February 24, 2013 OKLAHOMA CITY Blanquita passed from her earthly home at Fountains at Canterbury to her heavenly one on February 24, 2013, at the age of 87 after a courageous battle with ovarian cancer. She was born on January 3, 1926, to Varney and Ruby Davis in Burneyville, Oklahoma. Blanquita graduated from Burneyville High School in 1943. There she embraced what would become a lifelong love of basketball. She played basketball in high school, later on the driveway with her kids and found pure joy in watching the Oklahoma City Thunder games until the end. After graduation, Blanquita moved to Oklahoma City and worked at Tinker Air Force Base during WWII. After the war, she married her high school sweetheart, Lloyd Elwood Terrill, on February 16, 1946, in Gainesville, Texas. They lived in several Oklahoma towns, including Jimtown, Marietta and Pauls Valley before moving to Oklahoma City in 1961, where she lived for the rest of her life. Blanquita worked at Little Giant Pump Co. for a number of years before accepting employment with Western Electric as an electronics tester in 1965. She remained there for 22 years before retiring in October 16, 1987. Elwood and Blanquita had seven children together. They enjoyed gardening and family trips back to the Terrill family farm at Jimtown, OK on the edge of the Red River. There they enjoyed playing dominoes and eating fresh catfish, surrounded by extended family. Elwood passed away on December 8, 1986. Blanquita married Lewis O. Dye on December 21, 1990. They traveled together to many beautiful places and danced many dances. They both shared a love of music, family and church. They were members of Spring Creek Baptist Church. They both lovingly embraced each other's children and grandchildren. Lewis passed away on February 26, 2009. Blanquita was preceded in death by her mother and father, Varney and Ruby Davis; mother and father-in-law, Emery and Christine Terrill; her husband, Lloyd Elwood Terrill; her husband, Lewis O. Dye; three children, Randle Lee Terrill, Janette Marie Roberts and James Emery Terrill, all of Oklahoma City; her twin sister, Marquita Davis, who died at 9 months; brother, McDonald Davis; sister, Mildred Parten; and her brothers-in-law, James Hicks and Archelowe Terrill. Blanquita is survived by daughters: Juanella Fahey and husband Bill, of Edmond, OK; Marquita Madewell and husband Darrel, of Moore, OK; and Francy Strunk and husband Bob, of Edmond, OK; and son, John Terrill and wife Bonnie, of Spencer, OK. She is survived by 12 grandchildren, Jason, Brent, Susan, David, Tonja, Kevin, Darrel Jr., Mark, Amber, Chad, Dillon and Tanner; and she is survived by 13 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by five stepchildren, Richard, Mimi, Bet, Dana and Darby; two brothers, Joe Davis and P.J. Davis; two sisters-in-law, Ellie Hicks and Lynnita Terrill; and numerous nieces and nephews and endearing friends. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, February 27th at 1 p.m. at Spring Creek Baptist Church, 11701 N. MacArthur Blvd., OKC. Interment will be at Resthaven Memory Gardens, 104th & S. Walker, OKC. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Spring Creek Baptist Church in honor of Blanquita. Blanquita found strength throughout her life from her unwavering faith and daily talks with Jesus. She was ready to go Home to be with her Lord and see Him face to face. Although we will miss her here on earth, we look forward to being reunited for eternity. She's an angel — LET HER FLY!
