DIXIE COHAGAN

Nov 21, 1927 - Sept 7, 2012 OKLAHOMA CITY Dixie Lee (Willeford) Cohagan, 84, of Oklahoma City, died on Friday, September 7, 2012, at Mercy Hospital. A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, December 29 at Church of the Servant Chapel in Oklahoma City, with the Reverend Randy Shrauner officiating. Dixie was born on November 21, 1927, to Dick and Lela Willeford in Tobias, Nebraska. She grew up in Tobias and graduated from Tobias High School. She attended university at Doane College in Crete, Nebraska. She was united in marriage with Francis L. (Copey) Cohagan on March 16, 1949, at the Warren Methodist Church in Lancaster County, Nebraska. Dixie was a member of Church of the Servant. She leaves behind a devoted daughter, Cathy and her husband James; twin sons, of whom Dixie was so proud, Rick and Randy, and their wives, Amelia and Susan; also her special "one and a half dozen" grandchildren - Courtney (Ben), Megan (Matt), Jessica, Daniel, Mary, Ashley (Daniel), and Matthew; and two great-grandchildren - Michael and Maya. She is survived by her two beloved sisters, Phyllis Bloss of Magnolia, Arkansas; and Ruth Ritter of Peoria, Arizona. She was preceded in death by her husband, Copey; and brother, Bill Willeford. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Dixie's memory to: Coronado Heights Elementary School Special Olympics, 5911 N Sapulpa, Oklahoma City, OK 73112.Dixie was loved by so many and will be dearly missed.
