DONALD MCMAHON

McMahonSep. 18, 1932 - Feb. 26, 2013 YUKON Donald Ray "Donnie" McMahon, 80, was born Sep. 18, 1932 in Newkirk, OK to Lindsay and Mary (Nelson) McMahon. He passed away Feb. 26, 2013 in Oklahoma City, OK. Don served in the Navy during the Korean Conflict and graduated with a BA degree from OU in 1959. Donnie worked as a clinic manager for many years at the Family Medical Clinic in Oklahoma City and Yukon. After retirement from B.J. Hughes in 1994, he mentored at Shedeck Elementary School. Donnie was a member of the United Methodist Church of the Good Shepherd in Yukon and sang in the church choir for many years. He was a bicycle rider for many years and participated in the Oklahoma Freewill. He enjoyed traveling in RVs, golf and OU sports. Donnie was a well-respected member of the community. He loved his family and was a 100% family man. Donnie is survived by his wife, Mary; daughter, Sharon Douglas; daughter-in-law, Sherri McMahon; son-in-law, Jay Douglas; sister, Carol Hancock; grandchildren, Michael and Patrick McMahon, Ian Douglas, Rachel Keller, Rebekah Douglas and Sara Douglas; five great-grandchildren and numerous nephews, nieces and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one son, Shawn McMahon. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Sat., Mar. 2, 2013, at the United Methodist Church of the Good Shepherd in Yukon. Interment will follow at Yukon Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Donnie's name to: The United Methodist Church of the Good Shepherd, 10928 SW 15th, Yukon, OK 73099.
