IDA LOCKWOOD

November 7, 1929 - April 22, 2013 NEWKIRK/YUKON Ida Faye Lockwood, age 83, passed away on Monday, April 22, 2013 after a short illness. She was born November 7, 1929 in Uncas, OK to Carl and Leona (Huffman) Simmons. She grew up in Newkirk where she attended Newkirk Schools. Ida took her nurses training at Ponca City Hospital and worked 29 years for Dr. W.A. McDonald, retiring when he closed his practice in Newkirk. She attended First United Methodist Church of Newkirk. She and her husband Everett were members of the Moose Lodge, Elks Lodge, VFW and American Legion Auxiliaries. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother George Simmons and is survived by her husband of 58 years, Everett of the home in Yukon, one daughter, Cheri Lowe and husband Lyle of Mustang, two grandsons, Justin Lowe and wife Maggie of Oklahoma City and Jay Lowe and wife Haley of Mustang. Also five great grandchildren, twins Crew and Addison Lowe, London Lowe, Mason and Jaxson Jones. Donations in her memory may be made at Pets and People, Yukon, OK. Visitation will be from 5pm to 7pm on Thursday, April 25, 2013, at McNeil's Mustang Funeral Service. Services will be held at 2pm on Friday, April 26, 2013, at the First United Methodist Church of Newkirk, Newkirk, OK with interment following in Newkirk Cemetery under the direction of McNeil's Mustang Funeral Service, Mustang, Oklahoma.
