Irene May (LaFountaine) Ashworth, 90, of Midwest City, OK, went to live with our Heavenly Father on Jan. 11, 2013, surrounded by her family. She was born May 7, 1922 in Pawtucket, RI to the late Albert and Irene LaFountaine. She attended Tolman H.S. in Pawtucket and was the eldest of 12. Irene was the beloved wife of the late Henry Ashworth to whom she was married for 671/2 yrs. She was a homemaker who raised her three children to love the Lord. Irene was a strong Christian woman and was devoted to her Catholic faith. She had an unwavering dedication to her Lord, to the Blessed Mother, and St. Anthony. She enjoyed daily devotions and praying for others. She was a committed mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was ageless, claiming she was" 20-um" for many years. She kept the family informed of local and current events by faithfully reading the paper and listening to the news. Irene traveled extensively following her husband's career eventually settling in MWC for the last 45 yrs. Due to her strong, candid, and flamboyant personality, she was often the center of attention. Her desire to have a good time and share a good laugh entertained us all, along with her dancing to Lawrence Welk. She brought our family together, playing her inventive holiday games. She leaves us with cherished memories of good times, laughter, and morals. She was truly "One of a Kind!" Irene is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Henry "Hank" Ashworth; 5 siblings.
