JAMES GARTON

March 21, 1943 - June 13, 2013 YUKON James Thomas (Tommy) Garton was born March 21, 1943, in Charleston, West Virginia, and passed away on June 13, 2013, in Oklahoma City. He was born to Cletis and Thelma Garton in Charleston, West Virginia, and graduated from Dupont High School in 1961. After high school, he went into the Air Force and then found his way to Oklahoma City. In Oklahoma City, he worked for Dulaney's Incorporated, Western Paper Company, and Xpedx. He leaves behind a daughter and son-in-law, Patty and Mike Haas, and grandchildren, Emily, Erin and Andrew Haas, of Hurst, Texas; and a son, Bryan Garton, of Oklahoma City. Also mourning his passing are his sisters, Ruth Moore and brother-in-law Dave, of Tulsa; and Linda Ferrell, of Midwest City; brother, Gary and sister-in-law Kay, of Fort Smith, Arkansas; and numerous nieces and nephews; along with the mother of his children, Marlene Gorby. He was preceded in death by his parents and two nieces. Tommy's family made the generous gift of donating his body to science for medical research and education through the nonprofit GenLife Institute.
