March 29, 1928 - Sept 22, 2013 OKLAHOMA CITY John Edward Maupin, 85, of Oklahoma City, passed away September 22, 2013, after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's. He was born March 29, 1928, in Wynnewood, OK to John Clyde and Allie (Graham) Maupin. John served in the Air Force, and then in 1947, he started working in the trucking industry until his retirement in July of 1990. He owned and operated Midwestern Transportation, Inc. for the last 21 years of his career and was active in the Associated Motor Carriers of Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his father; mother; and three brothers, Bill Maupin, Leonard Maupin, and James Maupin. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Lorene, of the home; one son, Steve Maupin and wife Sherry, of Midwest City; one daughter, Lora Hart and husband Tommy, of OKC; four grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held at 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on September 24, 2013, at Resthaven Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, September 25, 2013, in the Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel, with interment to follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens.
