JUDITH FLORES

Dec. 10, 1935 - Jan. 26, 2013 OKLAHOMA CITY Judith Carolyn Flores LeBlanc, 77, passed away peacefully on January 26, 2013. Judith was born on December 10, 1935 in Ottumwa, IA to George Leonard LeBlanc and Lois Maxine LeBlanc. Judith and her family moved to Oklahoma City in 1945, where she graduated Classen High School, Class of 1954. Judith had an inborn fondness for the Mexican culture, which lead her to move to Mexico City shortly after her high school graduation to attend Mexico City College. She resided in Mexico for over 20 years, and while there, married and had 4 children. She enjoyed her time in Mexico, and returned often after moving back to Oklahoma City. Upon her return to Oklahoma, she taught English as a Second Language to elementary students. Judith had a light to her that was always apparent, but even more so when she was teaching. Judith loved to teach, and touched the lives of many students during her career. One of her proudest moments was getting her PhD from OU. She used this to teach English as a second language at a college level and taught at Langston University, and OCU. She was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church. Among her many achievements, some of her greatest included her four children, and "being a mom and grandmother". Judith is preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her four children Carlos Antonio Flores, Carolina Flores, Juan Esteban Flores (Steven), and Laura Lois Flores; her brother Laurence Jack LeBlanc; and her six grandchildren. A Funeral Service will be held for Judith on Friday, February 1, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at St. John's Episcopal Church in Oklahoma City, followed by a committal service at Rose Hill Burial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Heifer International, www.heifer.org. Judith was a kindhearted, generous, and funny soul, and will be missed by all that knew her.
