KENNETH BOYD

Dec. 29, 1922 - Dec. 16, 2012 OKLAHOMA CITY KENNETH HAWXHURST BOYD, 89, of Oklahoma City, OK, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 16, 2012. Ken was born in Oklahoma City on December 29, 1922. He graduated from Clas-sen High School then joined the Navy where he served active duty during WWII and the Korean Conflict. He went into the Reserves and Retired as a Lt. Commander. The Navy took him all over the US where he attended college at 7 universities ending up at OU with a degree in Psychology. During his travels in the Navy, he met the love of his life, Gloria Mann Boyd, who passed away on March 10, 2012. They were married for 67 years. Ken Boyd was a great salesman and worked at various companies then settled down at the Credit Audit Bureau where he started a business service for Doctor's clinics in Oklahoma. He was an avid OU fan and always wore red and white during the season. He was able to attend many games over his life, including the Texas game in Dallas. Ken loved to play golf and would always play when he had the chance. A member of St. Luke's United Methodist Church for over 60 years and a member of "The Clyde Harrison Class". Ken is survived by his son, Greg Boyd and wife Phyllis of Oklahoma City, daughter, Cindy Click and her husband Richard of Edmond, OK and daughter, Jana Moore and her husband Wayne of New Castle, DE. Ken was blessed with 3 grandsons and 1 granddaughter, plus 4 great granddaughters. "Boomer Sooner" Dad! A Memorial service will be at St. Luke's United Methodist Church, 222 NW 15th in Oklahoma City, OK, Saturday, January 19, 2013 at 1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be sent and given to St. Luke's United Methodist Church.
