May 29, 1978 - Oct 9, 2012 OKLAHOMA CITY
Pam and Mike Adams were blessed by the birth of their daughter, Kerri, on May 29, 1978, in Oklahoma City, but all too soon, on October 9, 2012, Kerri passed away peacefully after an eight-year battle with melanoma. Kerri grew up in Oklahoma City and attended James L. Dennis Elementary, Hefner Middle School, and graduated from Putnam City North High School in 1996. Along with some of her lifelong friends, Kerri then attended the University of Oklahoma and graduated with a bachelor's degree in Finance in 2000. While attending OU, she developed many friendships, especially those with her sorority sisters at Delta Gamma. And, she loved her Sooner football. Upon completion of her degree, she went to work at Oklahoma Gas & Electric (OGE), where she again developed many friendships as she worked her way to becoming a Risk Analyst. Kerri loved her work, her friends, and her family, especially her niece and nephews, who always brightened her day. And we can't forget Annabelle, her much-loved Boxer, who was by her side the whole way. Kerri also loved to travel to new places, trying out new recipes, going to her book club, and she never said "No" to a shopping trip. Helping with "Stop Hunger Now" and installing child safety seats at Church of the Servant were also very important to her. Kerri was preceded in death by her grandfathers, Gene Seagrove and Elmer Adams. She is survived by her parents, Pam and Mike Adams; the best little brother in the whole world, Chad and his wife Melissa, who became like a sister to her; the most cherished and loved nephews and niece, Jackson, Truman, and Audrey; grandmothers, Barbara Seagrove and Hertha Adams; and many other much-loved Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins. We will all miss that "Kerri Smile" that filled us with such joy, but she left all of us with awesome memories that we will cherish forever. When Kerri arrived in heaven, she was greeted into the most loving arms, and we bet they heard her say, "Hola!" Visitation will be at the funeral home today 4-8 p.m. A memorial service and reception will be held at Church of the Servant United Methodist Church at 11 a.m. on Friday, October 12. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the OU Foundation in memory of Kerri Beth Adams.
