MARGARET MURRAY

MurrayJanuary 21, 1919 - January 13, 2013 BETHANY Margaret LaVerna Murray, 93, of Bethany, Oklahoma, passed away January 13, 2013 in Mineola, Texas. She was born to John and Elizabeth Read on January 21, 1919. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray, her parents, seven sisters and three brothers. She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Hendrickson and her husband, Paul of Olathe, Kansas; son, Robert Murray and his wife, Sherron of Mineola, Texas; three grandsons, Daniel Murray, Anthony Murray and Brian Hendrickson; one granddaughter, Cynthia Hendrickson; two great-granddaughters; four great-grandsons; two great-great-granddaughters; one great-great-grandson; and a host of family and friends.LaVerna was a life-long member of the Church of the Nazarene and was active for many years at the Penn Avenue Church of the Nazarene where she served in many capacities. She and Ray, in later years, were active at Bethany First Church of the Nazarene. She was active in the Midwest City Band Parents Association during the late 1950's. She was instrumental in introducing Peter Pan Peanut Butter to Oklahoma City in the late 1940's and 1950's. LaVerna had much love for her family and friends, but most of all, for her Christ. Services to celebrate her life will be held at 2:00pm, Thursday, January 17, 2013, at Mercer-Adams Chapel, 3925 N. Asbury, Bethany, OK. The Reverends Ken Murray and Mike Murray will be officiating. The family will be receiving guests one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, 8701 NW Expressway, OKC.
