MARINUS BEUGELSDIJK

July 1, 1907 - Jan. 28, 2013 OKLAHOMA CITY Marinus was born in the Netherlands on Jul. 1, 1907 and died Jan. 28, 2013. He immigrated to the US in 1956 with his wife and 6 children. He was a master craftsman working with wood, becoming a clock maker after his retirement. He was also an accomplished musician, playing the sax and clarinet in orchestras and dance bands. The walls of family homes are graced with his paintings. He will be sorely missed by his children Ena Alvarez & Al, Rosa Myers & Marvin, Tony Beugelsdyk & Barbara, Francina Hale & John, John Beugelsdyk & Carole, Paul Beugelsdijk & Edie; 14 grandchildren; 20 great- grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 yrs, Clazina and grandson Jimmie Beugelsdyk. Marinus was a longtime resident of Wichita, KS but in recent years resided first with daughter Rosa in Texas and more recent near daughter Francina in Oklahoma. A memorial service will be held in the Chapel of St. Ann Retirement Center in Oklahoma City Sat., Feb. 2, 9:30 am. Rosary and visitation on Fri., Feb. 8, 7:00 pm, at Resthaven Mortuary, 11800 W. Hiway 54, Wichita, Kansas. Funeral Mass on Sat., Feb. 9, 9:00 am at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, Haysville, KS followed by burial at Resthaven Cemetery. A memorial has been established in his name: St. Lawrence Cemetery, 301 Church Street, Mt. Calvary, WI 53057.
