Stan was born December 27, 1927 in Kansas City, MO to Max and Etta Silberg. He joined the Army
Medical Corp in 1947 for 2 years and attended and graduated from Kansas University with Master's of Arts in Bacteriology. He attended the University of Minnesota
where he earned Master's of Public Health and a Ph.D. in Epidemiology. He taught at the University of Missouri and was asked to join the newly formed School of Health at OU as an Epidemiologist in 1969. Stan retired from the Biostatistics and Epidemiology Department in 1994 as a Professor Emeritus, an honor he cherished.Stan married the love of his life, Irene, 8-05-56. He loved his wife Irene, dearly. She was his life. He was an active member at Emanuel Synagogue, loved teaching his students, tennis, working in the yard, enjoyed Greek mythology, OU football and his family.Stan is survived by his wife, Irene of 56 years, son, Craig of Tulsa, daughter-in-law Mindy, granddaughters Erika, Isabella, Rosalie, and Natalie and Lindsay Tippens, Dallas, son Steve and daughter-in-law Beverly, grand dogs, Snuffy and Cooper, as well and many family and friends.Stan suffered a long fight with Alzheimer's Disease and accepted it with grace and no complaints with Irene by his side, as is sole caregiver.
