STEVEN BENJOCK

July 11, 1918 - Jan 26, 2013 OKLAHOMA CITY Stephen Bernard Benjock, 94, went to be with his Lord and Savior on January 26, 2013. Stephen was born July 11, 1918, in Mount Pleasant, Pennsylvania, to Steven and Catherine Benjock. Stephen grew in this area of the country, and in 1933, after completing the 8th grade with perfect attendance and scores, he began working in the coal mines of Greene County, Pennsylvania. April of 1942 brought about a change, and Stephen and his brother were drafted into the United States Army. He was stationed at Norwich, England, and served in the Offensive in Normandy and the Rhineland Campaign in the European Theater. Steven returned home in June of 1945 to begin life with his wife and first daughter. He then began a career in the Steel Industry working for Capitol Steel for many years, from which he retired. Steven was preceded in death by his parents; one sister; and one brother. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Neva Benjock; six children, 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren; brother, Tom Benjock; and sister, Frances Benjock. Visitation will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home on Monday, January 28, 2013, from Noon until 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, January 29, 2013, at St. James Catholic Church, 4201 South McKinley Avenue, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, with interment following in Resthaven Memory Gardens.
