My sincerest condolences to the family. I only recently learned of Joey's passing. He was one of the sweetest, kindest and most hardworking boys that I have had the honor of knowing. I was President of the Foreign Affairs Club (Model UN) at Catholic University while he attended. The last time that I saw him was when he let me know that he was transferring to UVA. I gave him a big hug and wished him luck as he was excited and nervous about his next adventure. I'm so sorry that you lost your son, but I am glad that I got the chance to know him.

Paula, John and Mark,
I wish to offer my condolences to you for your loss.
Remembering how Joey played with Carrie and Steven while at Grandpa's are some of my favorite memories. Whether pushing them both on the swings or spinning them round and round on the playground merri -go-round, he never tired of playing and keeping them entertained. And the way he allowed them to crawl all over him and wrestle, carefully I might add, with them was wonderful.
And I remember appreciating his help when he came to our home when the kids were little to entertain them while I took a moment to get a few things done uninterrupted. I knew they were in good hands while he was here and they loved every minute of his attention.
Joey helped to create some incredible memories and I will cherish those memories always.
Please know my thoughts and prayers are with you all now and in the future.
