June 23, 1925 - May 3, 2012 EDMOND Memorial services for Alfa B. Sasser will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, May 14, 2012, Matthews Funeral Home in Edmond, Oklahoma. She passed away May 3, 2012, in Edmond. Alfa was born June 23, 1925, in Fletcher, OK to George W and Ruthie (Leonard) Dutton. She graduated from Chickasha High School in 1942 and received her BS in Accounting from the University of Oklahoma in 1947. She married the Rev. C.W. Sasser, Jr. of Lawton, OK on December 20, 1946. They lived in Lawton before moving to Oklahoma City in 1972. Alfa was one of the first women in Oklahoma to pass the CPA exam in 1959 and completed 59 tax seasons before retiring in 2011 for health reasons. She was active in the Oklahoma Society of CPAs throughout her career as well as other business and civic organizations in Lawton and Oklahoma City. Alfa is survived by her son, Will (Peggy) Sasser of Lawton; and her daughter, Sue Lynn Sasser of Edmond; two grandchildren: Kim (Derrick) Bandelier of Austin, TX; and Amanda Sasser of Los Angeles; two great-grandchildren, Jaxon and Addison Bandelier; two sisters: Katherine Chapman of Lubbock, TX; and Ruetta (Les) Davidson of Norman; plus several nieces, nephews and their families. Alfa was preceded in death by her parents; her two brothers, James and George, Jr.; and her son-in-law, Chuck Williams. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that funds be directed to the Showers of Blessing Foundation, a fund she started to provide scholarships for students at the University of Central Oklahoma seeking a career in Christian music (15925 Traditions Blvd, Edmond, OK 73013); or to the Dr. Sue Lynn Sasser Economics Scholarship Fund at the University of Central Oklahoma Foundation (100 N.
