Jan 30, 1928 - May 9, 2013 DAYTON, OH Ann Martin Carroll died peacefully at Hospice of Dayton May 9, 2013. Preceded in death by husband of 60 years, Jack, in September, 2011; son, Patrick Francis; parents, J. Frank and Margaret Martin; daughter-in-law, Louise Carroll; and siblings, Sam Martin, Mary Ziegler, Jerry Martin and Joe Martin; she is survived by her children and their spouses, John and Gail Carroll, Maureen Brustkern, Margie and Pete Wehner, Rose Ann Carroll and Kevin Moran, and Tom and Sue Carroll. Other survivors include grandchildren, Max (Mel Church) Brustkern, Lea (Nathan) Lundquist, Zeke Brustkern, John Wehner, Caitlin (Greg) Fister, and Carroll (Allen) Jackson; as well as great-grandchildren, Erika, Alexis, and Cameron. Also surviving are siblings, Jack Maddan, Mary Lou Williams, and Lucy Newport; sisters-in-law, Paula Martin, Anna Dewine, and Rosemary Hausenbauer; and numerous nieces and nephews. Ann graduated from John Carroll High School in OKC and St. Mary's College in Leavenworth, KS. She was a homemaker when her children were young and became an elementary school teacher when they began college, teaching at St. Peter and Huber Heights Schools for many years. Ann was a wonderful wife, mother and teacher. She loved children and adored her grandchildren, rarely missing their games, concerts or plays and filling them full of treats whenever they visited. She was a very spiritual woman and was active in various service activities at her church throughout her life. She and Jack had a very good life together and were deeply loved by their family. Visitation will be at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Rd., Dayton, OH 45424, on Tuesday, May 14, 2013, 5-7 p.m., and the Funeral Mass will be on Wednesday, May 15, 2013, at 11 a.m. at St. Peter Catholic Church, 6185 Chambersburg Rd., Huber Heights, OH 45424, where Ann was a charter member.
