WhiteJuly 3, 1917 - Feb. 24, 2013 YUKON Dorothy "Elizabeth" White, Yukon, 95, departed this life on Feb. 24, 2013. She was born in Enid, Oklahoma on July 3, 1917 to Tom & Nora Brewer. Elizabeth was a 1935 grad of Enid H.S., and a 1937 grad of Enid Business College. She married her high school sweetheart, Carl White, on July 30, 1938. While Carl served overseas during World War II, she worked as a secretary in Enid. Upon their move to OKC, she devoted herself to her home, family, and church. An active member of Olivet Baptist Church, she served for over 30 yrs. as a teacher of 5 year olds. When Carl retired from Lee Way in '75, they traveled with their Airstream trailer and did volunteer mission work. She is survived by daughter Carolyn May, son and daughter-in-law Tom & Janice White, all of Yukon: 7 grandchildren, Krista May, Kim & Jonathan Karber, Keri & John Lurry, Kathy & John Graham, Jennifer & Kirk Bragg, Erin & Seth Cavin, Jason White; & 9 great-grandchildren, Braxton, Bella, & Berkley Bragg, Bryce & Chase Graham, Elizabeth, Vivian, & Hank Cavin, & Rylee Karber. She was preceded in death by her husband Carl, parents, & son-in-law Dale May. Visitation will be held on Feb. 28, 2013 from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM, with the family in attendance from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Memorial services will be held Friday, March 1, 2013, at 11:00 AM in the Colonial Chapel of Smith & Turner Mortuary, 201 E. Main, Yukon, OK.
