October 23, 1920 - June 26, 2012 OKLAHOMA CITY Elmer Edward Marose, 91, went to be with his Lord and Savior on June 26, 2012. He was born in Chicago, Illinois, to William and Caroline Marose and was preceded in death by 3 sisters, a brother, and a daughter, Cheryl. Survivors include his loving wife of 70 years, Jean, a daughter, Karen Boatright, a son, Ken, and four grandchildren, four great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Elmer was a proud Veteran of the United States Navy serving in World War II. He was employed at Western Electric until his retirement. He also served as Executive Director of Superbia Retirement Village where he still served on the Board of Directors. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church where he was active in the Crusaders Sunday School Class. Elmer was also active in scouting where he served as Committee Chairman for Troop 146 with the Last Frontier Council, and he ushered OU Football games with the Boy Scouts for 34 years. He served as past president of the Oklahoma Federation of Square Dancers and was a member of the Telephone Thunderbird Pioneers as well as a docent for the National Cowboy Hall of Fame.Services will be held 10:00 A.M. Friday, June 29, 2012, at Grace United Methodist Church, 6316 N. Tulsa, OKC 73112, with interment at Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Guardian West Funeral Home on Thursday, June 28, 2012, from 8:00 A.M. to 8:00 P.M. The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. The family would also like to express their heartfelt thanks to the wonderful staff at Epworth Villa for their kindness, compassion, and professional manner.
