Apr. 27, 1919 - Oct. 8, 2012 OKLAHOMA CITY Frans Hardin Hammons was born into the family of Pearl and Charlie Hammons on April 27, 1919 in Thomas, Oklahoma and died peacefully at Concordia Life Center on October 8, 2012. Frans was raised and schooled in Thomas, Oklahoma. He attended SWOSU and earned degrees in Mathematics and Physics graduating in 1941. Frans was a WWII Veteran serving in US Navy, earning an honorable discharge in 1946. Frans married Alice Beatrice Thomas in 1949. Frans retired in 1978 from a successful career in Geophysics, serving the oil and gas industry. He was preceded in death by a sister, Cleo Caldwell and brothers, J, Roy, and Lowell (better known as "Brownie"). Frans is survived by his wife Alice Hammons. A Memorial Service will be held for Frans at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, October 11, 2012, at Chapel Hill Funeral Home Chapel.
