Aug 29, 1931 - Oct 3, 2012 OKLAHOMA CITY Geneva Dornan, age 81, who was a resident of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, passed away on October 3, 2012, at home, surrounded by loved ones. She succumbed to the effects of heart failure. Geneva was born on August 29, 1931, in Spearville, Kansas, to Polly and Perry Nichols. She was one of four children and the youngest of her siblings, George, Thurman and Uldine. She married Eual James Dornan on October 3, 1948. Geneva spent her entire life in service of her fellow man and offering aid and comfort to others both through her role as a minister's wife and the many people she met and helped born of her burning desire to help others. She fed, cared for, and housed, others who had no other shelter in the storm. Geneva was selfless in her dedication to her church and community, never thinking of herself until all others were taken care of, even up to the very end. Geneva is survived by her husband, A.J. Dornan; son, James Dwight Dornan; grandsons, James Dee Dornan and Cody Perry Dornan; and granddaughters, Yvette Machelle Rose, Megan Colleen Dornan and Jessica Christine Nash. Geneva was preceded in death by her husband, Eual James Dornan; daughter, Cynthia Kay Dornan; brothers, George Henry Dornan and Thurman Dornan; and her sister, Uldine Mae Dornan. Visitation will take place on Saturday, October 6, 2012, from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. at Sunny Lane Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held on Monday, October 8, 2012, at 2 p.m. at Southpointe Assembly of God, located at 13300 Straka Farm Rd., Oklahoma City, with burial following at Sunny Lane Cemetery in Del City, OK.
