Nov 12, 1931 - Feb 13, 2013 CORINTH, TX George D Moore, 81, died peacefully, surrounded by family, at Countryside Nursing Home in Pilot Point, Texas, on February 13, 2013. He was born in Oklahoma City on November 12, 1931, to Fred C. Moore and Myrtle L. (Brown) Moore. His parents and siblings, Fred C. Moore, Jr. and Hazel Haynes, preceded him in death. George graduated from Central High School in 1949. He then served in the U.S. Air Force. After graduating from Central State College in Edmond in August 1954, he began a 30-year career in banking, including Liberty National Bank in Oklahoma City, First National Bank of Tulsa, and First National Bank of Norman. He then worked for the Oklahoma State Department of Education until he retired to Texas. He is survived by his wife, Shirley P. Moore, of Corinth, Texas; three children from his marriage to Mary Ann (Richardson) Moore: son, Don and wife Debbie Moore, of Flower Mound, Texas; daughters: Kellye Cloud, of Choctaw; and Laura Rogers, of Lafayette, Indiana. He is also survived by six grandchildren, Jenny and Chris Moore, Lauren Chambers Holmes and husband Catlin, Stacie Chambers, Aspen and Allie Rogers; and great-grandchild, Gracie Holmes. George loved his family and enjoyed every minute with them. He will be missed and remembered for his wonderful stories, songs, and words of wisdom. He was a believer in education, had a love for OU Football, and was always the life of the party. He will be laid to rest beside his parents at Rose Hill Cemetery in Oklahoma City.
