Jan 21, 1924 - Aug 2, 2012 OKLAHOMA CITY Gordon Appleby passed away Thursday, August 2nd at 7:57 p.m. at Green Acres Nursing Center, Oklahoma City. He is survived by his son, Gregory B. Appleby; and his daughter, Gail Lynn Ripley; both of Edmond, OK. Gordon's first wife, Virginia Lee Hankey; four grandchildren and several great-grandchildren also survive him. Gordon was born in Peabody, KS and was married to Virginia Brooks in Wichita, KS on Nov. 22, 1944. They moved to Oklahoma City in March 1957, where they have lived to the present day. His funeral will be at Demuth Funeral Home, 1145 W. Britton Rd., Oklahoma City, on Tuesday, Aug. 7th at 10 a.m.
