March 21, 1920 - May 12, 2012 OKLAHOMA CITY Joe Barrientos, 92, went home to be with our Lord on May 12, 2012. Joe was born in Pittsburg, OK to John and Frances Barrientos on March 21, 1920. He served our country in WWII and retired from Wilson Meat Co. He wrote stories for the Beacon newspaper and was a dedicated member of Southwest Baptist Church. Joe loved his Sunday school members, and they faithfully visited and prayed for him. Joe's greatest joy was his ministry of giving New Testament Bibles and sharing the plan of salvation with others. He distributed 647 Bibles. He was preceded in death by the love of his life of 35 years, Thelma Jean. Before her death in 1976, they loved to fish and garden. He was also preceded by a son, Rodney; and grandson, Louie Underwood. Joe is survived by two daughters: Cynthia Croninger and husband Leo, who was like a son to Joe; and Sharon Underwood and husband Frank; three grandchildren, Misty Birdsong and husband Ron, Cristy Davis and husband Craig, and Eric Underwood; six precious great-grandchildren, Larry Don Wilson III, Lauren Wilson, Preston Minnich, Zachary Davis, Chase Davis, and Breona Underwood.
