WooldridgeApril 5, 1909 - Jan 3, 2013 OKLAHOMA CITY Lillian Louise Wooldridge, 103, of Oklahoma City, went to be with the Lord January 3, 2013. She was born in Sallisaw, Oklahoma, on April 5, 1909, to Nestor Pitts Jr., of Newborn, Georgia, and Vivian Scott Pitts, of Southwest City, Missouri. Immediately after her birth, they moved to Sapulpa, Oklahoma, where her father ran Pitts Booterie. Louise was one of six daughters; and has only one sister remaining, Gertrude "Bobbie" Pitts Zibby, of Norman, Oklahoma. During her first job in 1927, she survived a bank robbery by the infamous Kimes-Terrill Gang. Shortly thereafter, she married the love of her life, Robert Earl Wooldridge, in 1927 and was with him lovingly until his death in 1986. After moving to Illinois and Indiana, they returned to Oklahoma City in 1950 for permanent residency. Louise considered everyone she ever met as a dear friend, and she enjoyed all conversation. She was known for her warmth, hospitality, and willingness to go the extra mile. She was a faithful member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church, and she devoted much of her time serving the needy in her community. She enjoyed bird watching, long walks, working in her rose garden, fishing with her husband, baking, and was an avid animal lover. Memorial service will be held Saturday, January 19, 2013, at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 4400 N. Shartel in Oklahoma City at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, we encourage donations to Westminster Presbyterian Church Food Pantry. Services are under the direction of the John M. Ireland Funeral Home, Moore, OK.
