MillerMar. 24, 1917 - Aug. 30, 2013 OKLAHOMA CITY Lucille was one of six children born on the family farm in Eastland County Texas to Joseph E and Beulah Pate Sheridan. As a young woman Lucille moved to Oklahoma City where, in 1938, she married a handsome young lawyer by the name of William A. Kerr. The couple moved to Midwest City, Oklahoma in 1953 where they established deep roots in the community. There were three children born of this union: George Ronald Kerr, Linda Darlene Kerr and Robert Bruce Kerr. After the death of her husband in 1968 Lucille continued to be an integral part of the Midwest City community for many years. In 1995 Lucille married Col. Edwin (Bruce) Miller, Jr. (USAF Retired) a fellow longtime and active member of the Midwest City community. Lucille and Bruce Miller continued to be a prominent and dynamic part of the Midwest City community for several years until his death in 2009. ''Lady Lucille", as she was aptly dubbed by her friend James Howell, was a lady of great beauty, elegance and grace. Her honest straightforward approach and her generosity of spirit engendered the loyal friendship of many and the respect of all. Her joy of life and her ability to live each day as if it was a gift was a constant throughout her life. Lucille loved to laugh, talk with everyone she met, dance, travel and play bridge. She adored children and was possessed of a unique kindness and consideration to all creatures that crossed her path. In her waning months she spoke often about how she would not change one thing about the life she had lived and her wish is that her loved ones not grieve, but rather move forward with the joy of life that had been a hallmark of her life. Lucille is survived by her children, Ronald Kerr and wife Pat, Linda Kerr Johnson and husband Donald, Bruce Kerr and wife Debbie and by her daughter- in-law Mary Martha Miller Bynum and husband Ray and by her grandchildren Kevin Beauchamp, Colleen Kerr Pimentel, Brownell Kerr Combs, Katie Kerr Hotta, Joe Kerr and Kelly Kerr and by six great grandchildren Jesselyn Torlak, Rebecca Beauchamp, Charlotte Beauchamp, Joe Pimentel, Justin Pimentel and Jason Pimentel. She was preceded in death by her granddaughter Laura Lynn Kerr. A Celebration of Life will be held at 3 pm, Thursday September 5, 2013 at Quail Ridge Assisted Living. A special thank you to the Ladies of Brown Sugar who lovingly cared for Lucille during the last year: Kim Smith, Alicia Caldwell, Evelyn Lewis, Vicki Cortez, Betty Robins, Sharon Gibson and Danielle Henderson.
