HarrellSept 21, 1934 - June 19, 2013 OKLAHOMA CITY Lyda Ruth Thomas Harrell entered this world on September 21, 1934. She reunited in heaven with the love of her life, Glen, on June 19, 2013. Lyda was born in Cerra Gorda, Arkansas. She graduated from Foreman High School in Arkansas in 1951. Lyda was a very strong woman, starting and brokering her own real estate company, Mr. "C" Realtors, which remained in business for over 20 years. She was very active in the Shrine for most of her adult life, where she gained many lifelong friends. Embracing her deep love of government, Lyda served the City of OKC as a member of the Human Rights Committee. She also served on the Traffic Commission for 13 years. To those that knew her personally, she will mostly be remembered for her love of family and friends. She was a fun-loving and feisty woman with a zeal for life. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 29 years, Glen Harrell; and her parents, Tiny Thomas and Arthur Thomas. She left many to cherish her memory: nephew, Richard Bagwell and wife Andie; two sons, Danny Albert and David Albert and wife Jerri; her daughter, Laura Holland and husband James; two stepdaughters, Glenda Karjo and Beverly Walters; many grandchildren, Shannon Wilkins and husband Dustin, John Albert and girlfriend Tawny, Daniel Albert and wife Kat, Nicole Erskine and husband Spencer; and the babies, Traey and Colton Albert, Lyda; and 11 great-grandchildren, Drake, Brianna, Sydney, Gabrielle, Keaton, Ryland, Cristian, Paisley, JP, Elijah, Tensley, Saylor, and one Lucille Lyda on the way. It would be impossible to list all her close friends; there were so many. Funeral ceremonies will be held 4:30 p.m. June 21, 2013, at the Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel, with interment to follow in Resthaven Memory Gardens.
