May 27, 1922 - May 7, 2012 OKLAHOMA CITY Lylas, 89, went to be with her Heavenly Father on May 7, 2012. Lylas was born to Charles & Ninnie Pease on May 27, 1922. She would have celebrated her 90th birthday this May 27, 2012. Lylas was raised in Oklahoma. She was married to Norman Berkenbile for 65 years until his passing in 2006. Lylas had been an avid bowler, winning many trophies. Lylas was also known for her fantastic cooking, especially her pies. Most of all, Lylas was a devoted Christian and mother. She was everybody's "Granny." Lylas was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, husband, Norman Berkenbile and grandson, Jason Berkenbile. Lylas is survived by her three children: Nancy Stone (Bill), Charles Berkenbile (Amy) and Robert Berkenbile (Agnes); 9 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren; and many friends & relatives. Viewing will be at Vondel Smith Mortuary, 6934 S. Western Ave., from 4-8 PM today with the family greeting friends from 6-8 PM. Services are 10:30 AM Thurs.
